    Presentation of the Video Chrestomathy of the History of Georgian Literature – “Living Texts”

    The presentation of the Video Chrestomathy of the History of Georgian Literature – “Living Texts” was held at Ilia Chavchavadze National Library of Georgia.

    The presentation was attended by representatives of scientific and academic circles, literary critics, professors, project participants and students.

    The event was opened by the Chancellor of Caucasus International University. In his speech, Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze highlighted the significance of the project in terms of preserving national identity.

    The idea of ​​creating the video chrestomathy and the stages of its implementation were introduced to the public by Tamar Paichadze, the author of the project, Professor of Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.

    Nino Chalaganidze, Vice-Chancellor of Caucasus International University (CIU), Head of CIU Multimedia Center, spoke about the role of such cognitive content in fulfilling the goals set by the Third Mission of higher education institutions.

    Nino Mindiashvili, Project Manager and Professor at Caucasus International University, placed emphasis on the importance of multimedia video libraries in the creative process and teaching Georgian literature.

    Within the framework of the event, a presentation of the video annotation of “Living Texts” was held. After the screening, the project participants and representatives of various higher education institutions shared their impressions with the public.

    The video library, consisting of three parts, combines the ancient (V-XVIII centuries), modern (XIX century) and recent (XX century) periods of Georgian literature. In each section, the materials presented chronologically, according to their relevance, are fully consistent with the curriculum of the history of Georgian literature.

    Within the framework of the project, the works of Georgian writers are read by specialists in the field, literary scholars, textologists and publicists.

    Video reading aims to promote Georgian writing, introduce it to the audience and once again rethink it.

    “Living Texts” is a joint project of Caucasus International University Multimedia Center and Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
