    Scientific seminar: Language, Media and Society in the Digital Era”

    Caucasus International University is please to invite you to attend a scientific seminar: Language, Media and Society in the Digital Era”. 

    Seminar Date: June 5, 2026 

    Seminar Time: 12:00

    Address: Room 303 (Auditorium Named after Zhiuli Shartava), Caucasus International University, 73 Chargali St., Tbilisi.

    The aims of the scientific seminar are:

    1. Studying digital transformation: to analyze how language and communication are changing in the digital environment (social networks, messengers, AI-voices, memes, etc.);
    2. Understanding the role of the media: to discuss the impact of new media on public opinion, political discourse and social relations;
    3. Researching linguistic changes: to study linguistic phenomena of the digital era (Internet slang, digital variations of the Georgian language, English-Georgian code-switching, the impact of AI on language);
    4. Promoting interdisciplinary dialogue: to create a space for collaboration between linguists, media researchers, sociologists, journalists and IT specialists;
    5. Identifying challenges: to discuss contemporary issues: fake news, hate speech, echo chambers, digital inequality, language rights in the digital space;
    6. Presenting research results: researchers to present their recent research and empirical data in Georgian and international context;
    7. Developing practical recommendations: to develop proposals for media education, state policy and platform regulation.
