On October 13, as part of a series of university events dedicated to the 1700th anniversary of the proclamation of Christianity as the state religion in Georgia, Caucasus International University (CIU) hosted a high-ranking ecclesiastical delegation. The university was visited by His Beatitude Rastislav, Archbishop of Prešov and Metropolitan of the Czech Lands and Slovakia.

The delegation of distinguished guests, accompanied by Archbishop Ephrem of Bolnisi, toured the Faculty of Viticulture and Enology at Caucasus International University and examined its unique facilities and technical infrastructure—established in 2015 with the blessing of Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia.

The delegation was personally hosted by Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze, Chancellor of Caucasus International University. In addition, University Rector, Kakhaber Kordzaia; Vice-Rector for International Relations, Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze; Advisor to the Rector, Giorgi Pareshishvili; Dean of the Faculty of Viticulture and Enology, Olani Gotsiridze; as well as faculty members and representatives of the administration attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the hosts presented the guests with the results of initiatives undertaken over the years to develop the Faculty of Viticulture and Enology. Particular emphasis was placed on the University active involvement in events marking the 1700th anniversary of the declaration of Christianity as the state religion—most notably a large-scale scientific conference held at the University this past June.

At the end of the visit, the parties exchanged symbolic gifts and expressed their readiness for productive future collaboration.
