Vakhtang Maisaia, Professor at Caucasus International University (CIU) and Head of the Master’s Educational Program in Global Politics and Security Studies, continues to be actively engaged in the international academic arena.

From October 2 to 5, Professor Vakhtang Maisaia, accompanied by Associate Professor Eka Beraia—an academic representative for security studies within the same program—visited the city of Ostrowiec Świętokrzyski in the Republic of Poland. The CIU delegation participated in anniversary events marking the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Józef Gołuchowski University of Applied Sciences, a strategic partner of CIU. Caucasus International University maintains a partnership with this institution through numerous joint projects, including the Erasmus+ program.

At the anniversary event, attended by representatives of the Polish government, leading academic circles, and partner universities from abroad, the Georgian professors addressed the audience in Polish and English and presented an official congratulatory letter from Professor Kakhaber Kordzaia, Rector of Caucasus International University. Another significant outcome of the academic visit was Professor Vakhtang Maisaia’s appointment to the Academic Council (Sejm) of the Polish university and his election as an affiliated professor, where he will teach courses in geopolitics and geostrategy.

Prior to this European achievement, Professor Maisaia had also spent a productive period engaged in academic activities in Asia. Following a two-month academic assignment to the Republic of India during the summer, he was appointed an international expert in education policy for the country’s national accreditation body for education. In addition, he participated in an international seminar held at Chandigarh University in Mohali, Punjab, India, where he delivered specialized training sessions and lectures for representatives of Indian and international academic communities.
