Aleksandre Begiashvili, a student of the Bachelor’s Educational Program in Information Technology at the Faculty of Business and Technology, Caucasus International University has been hired as a manager at the Kaspi Technopark FabLab.

First Steps: From Idea to Reality

“Reaching this point wasn’t a decision made overnight—it all started at the university. I first became acquainted with the FabLab environment through the 'Uni4verse' project. I was particularly captivated by the process of transforming a simple concept into a tangible object—seeing how various machines operate and realizing that you can personally create something that previously existed only as an idea. The “Chako Bag” project played a pivotal role in this journey; born within the university, it served as a bridge connecting me to the broader technological ecosystem”. “It was precisely this experience that led me to contact GITA for the first time”.

    Hackathons and Prototyping Experience

“My interest soon expanded to include participating in hackathons, which brought me even closer to the prototyping process. From conceiving an idea to handling the design and technical implementation, I discovered that with FabLab’s capabilities, you can start completely from scratch and arrive at a finished product”.

Daily Life at FabLab: Bringing Ideas to Life and Teaching

“When I saw the vacancy on the agency’s website, I decided to give it a try. Today, I work in the very space that captivated me years ago. My daily routine at FabLab is quite diverse; my tools of the trade include 3D printers, CNC machines, laser cutters, 3D scanners, drones, and various electronic components. I assist people who want to bring their ideas to life or create hardware products.

Equally important to me is the teaching aspect. I can now share my knowledge with others—I conduct Arduino courses for schoolchildren, where they gain hands-on experience working with electronic components. I also plan to hold LEGO and robotics training sessions in the future."

The University Role in My Success

“The university played a decisive role in my professional journey; in fact, it all started right here. The knowledge I gained and the skills I developed here directly assist me today—whether I am managing FabLab, conducting training sessions, or overseeing various technological processes”.
