The international scientific conference “The Black Sea Region at the Crossroads of Civilizations – V” was held at Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University. The two-day scientific event was organized by the Niko Berdzenishvili Research Institute of BSU in cooperation with Ovidius University of Constanța.
Academic staff from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Caucasus International University actively participated in the various sessions of the conference.
The primary objective of the scientific conference was to present the results of comprehensive humanities research focused on the Black Sea region—a historical crossroads where cultures and civilizations have converged. The event also aimed to promote interdisciplinary research and deepen academic dialogue on shared cultural heritage. Another important objective of the conference was to strengthen the role of Georgia—and specifically Batumi—as an intellectual hub within the scientific landscape of the Black Sea region.
The conference brought together more than 350 representatives from over ten countries, spanning various fields of study.
The event was supported by Caucasus International University, the Ministry of Education and Sport of the Autonomous Republic of Adjara, the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, the Romanian Academy, and the University of Ostrava (Czech Republic).

Visit by the Chair of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia
On September 28, Caucasus International University hosted Giorgi Jincharadze, Chairman of the Government of the Autonomous Republic of Abkhazia, and Giorgi Dzadzamia, Minister of Education and Culture as part of the traditional “Abkhazia Week”.
