On July 4, Georgian Young Dentists League organized a scientific-practical conference “Simplicity - Digital Protocol in Dentistry” at the Rooms Hotel in Batumi.
Caucasus International University served as the information partner of the conference, once again highlighting its commitment to students' professional development and the promotion of lifelong learning.
Students of Caucasus International University Dentistry Program (III, IV and V years) and a resident doctor of therapeutic dentistry participated in the conference. The delegation was led by university professors Veriko Khundzakishvili and Lela Grigolia.
It is noteworthy that Caucasus International University funded the participation of three final-year students with outstanding academic performance, demonstrating its commitment to recognizing academic excellence and supporting students’ professional development. The remaining students attended the conference on their own initiative, reflecting their strong motivation, commitment to continuous professional growth, and keen interest in the latest developments in dentistry.
The conference program featured presentations covering a wide range of topics in dentistry, with a particular focus on the application of modern digital technologies in clinical practice. The speakers highlighted the role of digital protocols in diagnosis, treatment planning and improving clinical outcomes, while also demonstrating the practical advantages of integrating innovative digital approaches into everyday dental practice.
The following presentations were delivered:
- Nana Suladze - “Management of Multiple Caries in Children” – Modern principles of managing multiple caries in children, preventive measures and complex treatment approaches were discussed.
- Ketevan Bokuchava - “Digital Vision of Traditional Orthodontics” – The possibilities of integrating digital technologies into orthodontic practice and their importance in the treatment planning process were presented.
- Mikheil Metreveli - “Digital Technologies in Orthopedic Dentistry” - The modern possibilities of using intraoral scanning, CAD/CAM systems and digital work protocols were discussed.
- Avtandil Bakradze - “Application of Artificial Intelligence in Cephalometric Analysis” - The report dealt with the role of artificial intelligence in improving diagnostic accuracy and the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment.
- Mariam Orjonikidze - “Digital Planning of Mini Implants in Orthodontics – More Accuracy, Less Risk” - The advantages of digital planning in the safe and predictable use of mini implants were presented.
- David Panchulidze - “Immediate Implantation with Immediate Restoration” - Modern implantology protocols, their clinical advantages and prerequisites for successful treatment were discussed.
An exhibition of dental materials, modern technologies and oral care products was held in parallel with the conference. Students actively got acquainted with the latest dental materials, digital systems and innovative products, received information about their practical use and had the opportunity to directly talk to representatives of the field.
After the conference, all participants were awarded a certificate of participation.
Participation in the conference significantly contributed to the enhancement of the professional knowledge of students and resident doctors, familiarization with the achievements of modern digital dentistry, development of clinical thinking and improvement of professional skills. Such scientific and educational events promote the integration of theoretical knowledge with practice, increase students’ motivation for continuous professional development and are fully consistent with the educational goals of Caucasus International University Dentistry Program.
