Caucasus International University (CIU) has achieved another significant milestone in its international development by receiving the prestigious QS Stars award during the QS Higher Ed Summit: Europe 2026, held on 24–25 June in Budapest, Hungary.

Representing the University at one of Europe's leading higher education events were Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Tamar Inasaridze and Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Professor Ekaterina Chalaganidze, who participated in discussions with university leaders, international education experts, and policy makers from across Europe.

A highlight of the summit was the official presentation of the QS Stars certificate, recognizing Caucasus International University for its commitment to academic excellence and international development.

Following an extensive and independent institutional evaluation conducted by QS Quacquarelli Symonds—one of the world's most respected higher education analytics organizations—CIU was awarded an overall rating of 3 QS Stars, confirming the University's strong performance across multiple indicators of quality and institutional effectiveness.

Even more notably, the University demonstrated excellence in several strategic areas, receiving:

    • 5 Stars in Teaching
    • 5 Stars in Employability
    • 4 Stars in Global Engagement

These outstanding results reflect CIU's continuous efforts to provide high-quality education, prepare graduates for successful careers, and strengthen its international presence through global partnerships, academic mobility, and cross-border collaboration.

Unlike traditional university rankings, the QS Stars rating system provides a comprehensive assessment of institutional performance across a broad range of internationally benchmarked indicators, evaluating universities on the quality of teaching, graduate outcomes, internationalization, facilities, innovation, and academic development. The methodology is designed to highlight each institution's unique strengths while supporting strategic development and global visibility.

Receiving this recognition at the QS Higher Ed Summit: Europe 2026 marks an important step in CIU's internationalization journey. The summit brought together higher education leaders, policymakers, and experts from across Europe to discuss the future of universities, innovation in higher education, research collaboration, and international partnerships. Participation in the event provided an excellent opportunity for CIU representatives to strengthen existing collaborations, establish new international connections, and exchange best practices with leading institutions worldwide.

The QS Stars recognition further reinforces Caucasus International University's growing international reputation and confirms its commitment to delivering a student-centred educational experience that meets global standards while preparing graduates to succeed in an increasingly competitive international environment.

As CIU continues to expand its global engagement and academic excellence, this achievement serves as both a recognition of the University's progress and a strong foundation for future international growth.
