On August 4-5, Caucasus International University hosted the 10th International Scientific Conference - “Unlocking Emerging Markets’ Potential through Innovation, Technology and Sustainability” organized jointly by the Faculty of Business and Technology and the Academy of Business and Emerging Markets (ABEM), Canada.
The conference brought together 28 authors from 10 countries (Canada, USA, Japan, Great Britain, France, India, Portugal, Slovakia, South Africa, and Georgia) - researchers, academics and practitioners, who presented their works in three main areas: business, governance and society.
The conference was chaired by Dr. Satyendra Singh, Professor of the University of Winnipeg, Canada, co-chaired by Dr. Tea Kasradze, Professor of Caucasus International University, and Dr. Darina Saksunova, Professor of Comenius University, Slovakia.
The first day of the conference commenced with a welcome address by the Rector of Caucasus International University, Dr. Kakhaber Kordzaia. The plenary session was delivered by Dr. Nino Zarnadze, Professor of Caucasus International University, who presented the theory of convergent leadership—a new academic framework that explores the harmonization of public and private sector values in conditions of uncertainty.
The first day program also featured presentations on technology and innovation, environment and sustainability, efficiency and productivity. The sessions covered a wide range of contemporary topics, including quantum technologies, artificial intelligence, microplastic pollution, sustainable fashion, wine marketing in developing regions, emotional intelligence, and other emerging issues.
On the second day of the conference, a plenary presentation was given by Professor Dr. Mpumalelo Longweni of North-West University, South Africa, who discussed the manifestations and consequences of the Dunning-Kruger effect in management using the example of an agricultural business. Sessions were also held on governance and management, where papers were presented on the integration of ESG principles, financial education and access to the mortgage market in Georgia.
The conference also included a networking and collaboration session, which gave participants the opportunity to plan future joint research projects, and the event ended with an awards and closing ceremony.
The conference was sponsored and supported by the University of Winnipeg (Canada), the Faculty of Management of Comenius University (Slovakia) and North-West University (South Africa).
Georgia, located at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, is a particularly suitable space for international academic knowledge exchange - it is a place where rich tradition meets a future-oriented spirit.
