    Briefing – “Horizon Europe” National Office in Georgia

    An information meeting organized by the National Office of the “Horizon Europe” program in Georgia was held at Caucasus International University. The event aimed to introduce academic staff to European funding opportunities and the mechanisms for supporting research and innovation projects.

    The session opened with welcome remarks from the Rector of Caucasus International University, Kakhaber Kordzaia, and the Head of the Scientific Research Department, Sesili Gogiberidze. In their speeches, they highlighted the strong and ongoing collaboration between the university and the National Office.

    Levan Khetsuriani, Head of the “Horizon Europe” National Office in Georgia, delivered a presentation outlining the organization’s key areas of activity and strategic priorities.
    The working part of the meeting focused on practical aspects of participation, including the general principles and eligibility conditions for funding, an overview of grant agreement models, as well as budgeting specifics and financial management requirements.

    Teona Maisuradze, National Contact Point for the Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions, provided an in-depth overview of opportunities in postdoctoral fellowships, doctoral networks, and joint doctoral programs. In the concluding part of the session, Nino Rodonaia, Coordinator for WIDERA (Widening Participation and Strengthening the European Research Area, Widening, ERA), introduced the 2026 funding calls.
    The event was attended by administrative and academic staff of Caucasus International University.
