    About the Project: Caucasus International University is a beneficiary partner of the Erasmus+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) project “Enhancing Research and Innovation Capacities in Georgian Higher Education Institutions (ERIC-GE)”.

    The project aims to strengthen the research and innovation potential of Georgian higher education institutions, improve research quality mechanisms, and align institutional practices with European and international standards. Within the framework of the project, innovative learning modules, new academic courses, and modern approaches to research management will be developed, contributing to closer links between research and education. 

    Particular emphasis is placed on:

    • strengthening research and innovation capacities; 
    • improving institutional mechanisms for research quality evaluation; 
    • introducing modern methodologies and AI tools into research management; 
    • developing innovative educational modules and courses; 
    • supporting master's and doctoral students as well as academic staff; 
    • promoting cooperation between Georgian and European partner institutions.

    Objectives: 

    • Strengthen research and innovation capacities in Georgian higher education institutions.
    • Align research evaluation mechanisms with European Union standards.
    • Develop and introduce a Scientometrics course.
    • Enhance the competencies of academic and research staff.
    • Support master's and doctoral students through innovative teaching approaches.
    • Foster international cooperation and exchange of expertise.

    Consortium:

    The ERIC-GE consortium brings together Georgian and European higher education institutions and research organizations. The project is coordinated by the Techinformi Institute of Georgian Technical University and involves six Georgian and two European universities. European partners include: University of Palermo (Italy) and University of Central Lancashire Cyprus.

    Expected Results:

    Through the implementation of ERIC-GE, partner institutions will:

    • improve research management practices; 
    • modernize research evaluation systems; 
    • introduce new educational content in Scientometrics; 
    • integrate artificial intelligence tools into research and teaching processes; 
    • strengthen international collaboration and knowledge exchange; 
    • enhance the research capacities of academic staff and young researchers.

    First National Meeting of the ERIC-GE Project

    The first national-level working meeting of the ERIC-GE project brought together representatives of the consortium institutions to discuss project implementation, expectations, and future activities. Participants also addressed cooperation principles and the introduction of the Scientometrics course aimed at strengthening research capacities. Caucasus International University was represented by Rector Kakhaber Kordzaia, Head of International Relations Department Svetlana Kirakosian, and Deputy Head of the Scientific Research Department Shorena Kurdadze.

    First Kick-off Meeting of the ERIC-GE Project Consortium

    Representatives of Caucasus International University participated in a two-day consortium meeting organized within the framework of ERIC-GE project. During the meeting, partners discussed project objectives, future activities, and draft versions of the Scientometrics training course. Special attention was devoted to strengthening research and innovation capacities and introducing artificial intelligence tools into science management and educational processes. Representatives of European partner universities and Georgian consortium members attended the event.

    Web of Science Scientific Databases Accessible for CIU Students and Staff

    Caucasus International University was provided with access to the Web of Science scientific databases for its students and academic staff. The platform offers a wide range of high-quality scientific resources, citation indexes, and analytical tools, supporting research activities and enhancing the quality of academic work. Access to Web of Science will contribute to strengthening the University's research capacity and promoting international scientific collaboration.
