Caucasus International University in the ERASMUS+ Project – ERIC-GE
On February 18–19, the first meeting of the international consortium within the framework of the ERASMUS+ CBHE project ERIC-GE was held. The event was hosted by Institute Techinformi of Georgian Technical University, which serves as the project coordinating organization. The first day of the meeting was dedicated to the official launch of the project, while the second day was conducted in a working format.
Caucasus International University is actively involved in the project. Its participation provides an important opportunity to enhance the university research potential, support the professional development of academic staff and early-career researchers, and offer students an educational environment enriched by international experience and collaboration.
At the ERIC-GE project consortium meeting, Caucasus International University was represented by Rector Kakhaber Kordzaia, who delivered a speech during the opening ceremony. The event was also attended by Svetlana Kirakosiani, Head of the International Relations Department; project coordinators Nino Chirgadze and Mariana Jalalbekova, Sesili Gogiberidze, Head of the Scientific Research Department and Shorena Kurdadze, Deputy Head of the Scientific Research Department. In total, the meeting was attended by more than 30 representatives from Georgia and across Europe.
The event was officially opened by representatives of the Institute Techinformi management, as well as the Head of Administration and the President of the Supervisory Board of Georgian Technical University.
The meeting was also attended by representatives of two European partner universities — the University of Palermo (Italy) and the University of Central Lancashire (Cyprus) — along with the rectors of five Georgian partner universities.
Within the framework of the two-day working meeting, consortium members discussed the project objectives, future activities and presented draft versions of the Scientometrics training course.
The project aims to strengthen the research and innovation capacities of higher education institutions in Georgia, introduce modern methodologies, and familiarize participants with artificial intelligence tools in science management, as well as integrate them into teaching and research processes.
ERIC-GE is a two-year project funded in 2025 by the European Commission within the framework of the ERASMUS+ Capacity Building in Higher Education (CBHE) program.
