On June 1, a festive event dedicated to the 80th birthday anniversary of Professor Jemal Sologhashvili, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Business and Technology, was held. In connection with the anniversary, the university hosted the presentation of the author’s new collection of poems - “Turbulence of Thoughts”. The collection was published with the support of Vakhtang Tsivtsivadze, the Chancellor of Caucasus International University.

The evening was moderated by Ketevan Nanobashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Technology. The event was also attended by Kakhaber Kordzaia, the Rector of the University and administrative/academic staff.

Jemal Sologhashvili was born on May 23, 1946, in the village of Dzegvi, Mtskheta region. A physicist by profession, he devoted most of his life and work to higher education and academic activities. His love for his homeland, his native Mtskheta and Dzegvi, and the unique charm of the Georgian language led to his deep admiration for poetry, which was finally realized in his collection of poems. The author’s work is oriented towards the search for good, sublime, divine and patriotic principles in a man. His poetic world is distinguished by a particularly tender attitude towards nature and the world.

The poetry evening took place in a warm and cosy atmosphere. As part of the event, the author himself read his own poems to the gathered audience. It is noteworthy that the guests also actively participated in the creative process, reciting several outstanding poems from the collection.

Representatives of academic circles thanked Mr. Sologhashvili for his many years of productive work, congratulated him on his 80th anniversary, and wished him continued creative progress.
