CIU Social and Educational Project for Students “I Brush My Teeth”

On July 4, students of the Dentistry Program of the Faculty of Medicine at Caucasus International University successfully implemented the social and educational project “I Brush My Teeth” at Akhalsopeli Public School in Khelvachauri Municipality. The initiative aimed to introduce third and fourth grade pupils to the significance of personal hygiene and to form healthy habits from an early age.
Mariam Abashidze, a graduate of the aforementioned school, is currently a student at Caucasus International University and was also actively involved in the organization and implementation of the project.
The project was implemented with the support of the Georgian Association of Periodontology, the pharmacy chain “Aversi” and the German oral care brand “Lacalut”, and organized by Caucasus International University. The event was led by Lela Grigolia and Vera Khundzakishvili, Professors of the Faculty of Medicine.
The training session was loaded in both informative and interactive elements. Children listened to a presentation on the importance of personal hygiene, enthusiastically participated in engaging quizzes, and made a lasting impression with their active involvement.
Thanks to the support of Tariel Mikeladze, school principal and teachers, the training was successfully conducted—despite the fact that the academic year was officially ended. Following the session, the school administration expressed sincere appreciation to the university for implementing the project and highlighted the high level of professionalism demonstrated by the participating students.
The children’s genuine interest and active engagement once again affirmed the value of such initiatives in raising awareness among the younger generation, fostering healthy habits, and supporting overall well-being. Educational projects like this represent a meaningful step toward advancing sustainable development in the fields of public health and education.
