Andranik Oganisyan, a student of the Master’s Educational Program in Global Politics and Security Studies (offered in English language) at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of Caucasus International University, participated in the international intensive educational program - Institute of Civic Studies and Learning for Democracy (ICSLD) - held in Germany.
The program was held in Augsburg on June 5-15 and its main goal was to promote the development of civil society and the strengthening of democratic culture.
The educational program included both lectures and practical workshops and group activities. Within the framework of the program, Andranik Oganisyan made a presentation on the topic - The Role of the State in Building a Just Society in the Countries of Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
The cultural part of the program included visits to historical and cultural landmarks, including the Dachau Concentration Camp Memorial, the Nuremberg Palace of Justice, as well as museums in Munich and Nuremberg.
Within the framework of the program, the participants discussed such important issues as:
- The role of a citizen in society;
- Democracy and citizen participation;
- Civic responsibility;
- Political education;
- Human rights;
- Social movements;
- Dialogue and public institutions.
