On January 21, a lecture titled “Post-Exposure Prophylaxis and Management of Blood-borne Infections” was held for students of the Dentistry program at the Faculty of Medicine of Caucasus International University.

The lecture was delivered by Zurab Alkhanishvili, Vice President of the Georgian Dental Association and President of the Georgian Association for Public Health and Wellbeing.

During the meeting, the speaker discussed in detail the transmission mechanisms of hepatitis B and C and HIV infection, professional risks of infection, safety standards in dental practice, as well as post-exposure prophylaxis algorithms that are essential for protecting the health of medical personnel.

The lecture was conducted in an interactive format—students actively participated in the discussion, addressing professional challenges and ethical issues that are particularly important in their future professional practice.

The event was actively organized with the participation of Vera Khundzakishvili, Associate Professor of the Dentistry program at CIU Faculty of Medicine and Professor Lela Grigolia.
