    WINE TOURISM

    A joint project of Caucasus International University (CIU), Georgian Wine Tourism Association (GETA) and the Global Wine Tourism Organization (GWTO) announces admission to the certificate course – “Wine Tourism”.

    Wine tourism course is designed for those interested in wine tourism. The aim of the course is to provide or deepen theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of wine tourism.

    Course Outline

    I Meeting – Wine Tourism in Georgia

    Trainer: Givi Kuparadze, Expert in Tourism field

     

    II Meeting – Viticulture and Winemaking

    Trainer: Olani Gotsiridze, Dead of the Faculty of Viticulture-Winemaking at Caucasus International University, Shengeli Kikilashvili - Ampelograph, wine company Shumi

    III Meeting – Art of Wine Tasting

    Trainer: Saba Qitiashvili, Ethno Okami Ltd - Chief Winemaker; National Wine Agency - Member of the Tasting Commission; Wine Company Shumi - Brand Ambassador; Spring Fields Ltd. - Founder/Chief Winemaker

    IV Meeting – Wine Tasting and Serving (practice)

    Trainer: Saba Qitiashvili, Ethno Okami Ltd - Chief Winemaker; National Wine Agency - Member of the Tasting Commission; Wine Company Shumi - Brand Ambassador; Spring Fields Ltd. - Founder/Chief Winemaker

    V Meeting – Food Industry in Wine Tourism

    Trainer: Dalila Tsanava, President of the Georgian Gastronomy Association; Researcher of Gastronomic Culture

    VI Meeting – Pairing Georgian Wine and Dishes (Practice)

    Trainer: Delila Tsatava, President of the Georgian Gastronomy Association; Researcher of Gastronomic Culture

    VII Meeting – Marketing of Wine Tourism

    Trainer: Maya Meladze, Expert in Tourism field

    VIII Meeting – Creating Wine Tourism Products

    Trainer: Tsitsi Tsatskrialashvili – Wine Tourism Researcher, Maya Meladze - Expert in Tourism field

    IX Meeting – Family Winery “Georgino” (Practice)

    Trainer: Giorgi Meshveliani, Head of Family Winery “Georgino”, Wine Technologist

     

    Training Details:

    Dates: November 24, 25, 26 and December 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11

    Three days a week, 3 hours per day

    Wednesday-Thursday-Friday: From 18:45 to 21:45

    Saturday: from 12:00 to 15:00

    Total Hours: 27 hours

    Tuition Fees – 550 GEL

     

    • Practice in Spanish Wineries

    A successful graduate will gain the opportunity to undergo a two-week professional internship for free in Spain.

    • Certificate: A bilingual certificate issued by Caucasus International University (CIU), Georgian Wine Tourism Association (GETA) and the Global Wine Tourism Organization (GWTO) upon the successful completion of the course.
