Vakhtang Maisaia and Alika Gechua Paid a Visit to Poland

“10th Asia-Pacific International Scientific Congress” was held in Toruń, Poland, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland, Nicolaus Copernicus University of Toruń, University of Warsaw and leading Polish universities on May 17-19.
Professor Vakhtang Maisaia, Head of Postgraduate Programs in International Relations and International Security and Global Politics and Security Studies offered in English at Caucasus International University and Associate Professor Alika Guchua, Head of Undergraduate Program in International Relations, made a presentation at the congress. Vakhtang Maisaia presented a paper on the topic: “China’s Defense Policy, Military Reform and Its Geostrategic Impact on National Military Capabilities”, and Alika Guchua presented on the topic: “The Geopolitical Code and Foreign Policy Process of the People’s Republic of China”. The representatives of the leading scientific and academic circles of Europe, Asia and the Pacific Ocean and academic staff of universities participated in the congress.
The representatives of Caucasus International University, within the framework of their visit to Poland, met the member of the Presidium of the European Parliament, Member of European Parliament (MEP) Karol Karski on May 17. At the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects of Georgia joining the European Union, reforms to be implemented, and issues of strategic cooperation in the direction of higher education.
Vakhtang Maisaia and Alika Guchua paid an official working visit to the city of Poznan, at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan on May 20, where they had a meeting with the Dean of the Faculty of Political Science and Journalism, Professor Andrzej Stelmach, who is also Chairman of the board of Scopus-indexed international scientific-research journal “Strategic Vision”.
The issues of implementing joint doctoral, postgraduate and undergraduate programs and research were discussed with Professor Andrzej Stelmach. It was also planned to implement joint exchange programs and to involve students, professors and academic staff of CIU in the scientific-research process in the Erasmus + program. The parties agreed to hold a joint international scientific conference on regional security issues of the Caucasus, co-organized by Caucasus International University and Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznan.
During the visit to the University of Poznan, an active collaboration was planned for the publication of scientific articles by CIU professors in the scientific-research journal “Strategic Vision”. The future perspectives of scientific-academic cooperation were also discussed within the framework of the meeting and the issue of implementation of specific scientific-research measures was set.
