On June 11, Caucasus International University hosted the presentation of the international educational project “Following the Footsteps of Poles in Tbilisi – a City Game.”
The project is being implemented through a partnership between the University of Bielsko-Biala (Poland) and Caucasus International University, with the support of the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA). Its primary objectives are to promote the Polish language, showcase the shared Polish-Georgian cultural heritage, and strengthen international academic cooperation.
The project was jointly presented by representatives of the University of Bielsko-Biala: Associate Professor Lidia Romaniszyn-Ziomek, PhD in Humanities; Maria Kubica, a specialist in teaching Polish as a foreign language; and Regina Wojtoń (NAWA), Lecturer of Polish at Caucasus International University.
During the presentation, participants were introduced to the project's main concept and its innovative educational format. “Following the Footsteps of Poles in Tbilisi” is a city game based on the modern educational method of gamification. This approach makes the learning process more interactive, practical, and engaging by combining Polish language learning with the exploration of Tbilisi’s historical environment and the discovery of the shared Polish-Georgian cultural heritage.
As part of the project, several educational publications have been developed, including the information booklet “Polish Traces in Tbilisi” and the educational guide “Gamification in Language Education.” These publications contribute both to the promotion of Polish cultural heritage and to the dissemination of modern approaches to foreign language teaching.
Notably, the city game is already available online and can be played independently by anyone interested. Participants can choose their preferred difficulty level, follow a route through the historic districts of Tbilisi, and discover fascinating facts about Polish-Georgian relations in an engaging and interactive format.
