Public Meeting: “Surrogacy Without Myths”
On June 12, Caucasus International University (CIU) hosted a public meeting on the topic: “Surrogacy Without Myths: Ethics, Law and Practice”. The event was jointly organized by the Faculties of Social Sciences and Humanities, Law and Medicine.
As part of the meeting, a screening of the thematic film “Nine Month Contract” was held for the audience, followed by an interdisciplinary discussion on the medical, legal and ethical aspects of surrogacy.
The following leading specialists and professors in the field were invited as speakers for the discussion: Ketevan Vashagashvili - Film Director; Rusudan Kvaratskhelia - Film Critic, Associate Professor at CIU; Magda Tortladze - Dean of the Faculty of Medicine at CIU, Associate Professor; Guram Ghvinjilia - Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law, Head of the Bachelor’s Educational Program, Associate Professor.
The event was opened by Ekaterine Chalaganidze, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities at CIU. During the meeting, students and other interested parties had the opportunity to receive comprehensive answers to issues of interest to them from the speakers.
