    Meeting: Plagiarism Prevention and Artificial Intelligence

    On March 19, an information meeting was held at Caucasus International University, focusing on the relationship between academic integrity and modern technologies. The event, titled “Plagiarism Prevention and Artificial Intelligence” was organized by the Library and the Doctoral Studies Office, and brought together students, doctoral candidates and academic staff.

    The meeting opened with a training session led by Maia Metreveli, educational technology specialist. Drawing on her many years of experience in the field, the speaker shared practical approaches to the ethical use of artificial intelligence. The discussion highlighted the boundaries between AI-assisted work and academic misconduct. Participants explored in detail how detection systems interpret AI-generated texts, the positions of international organizations on this issue, and how to properly cite AI-assisted work using different citation styles.

    Prior to the session, the audience was welcomed by Tamar Kavtaradze, Head of the Library and event moderator, as well as Nino Mindiashvili, Head of the Doctoral Studies Office, who emphasized the importance of the topic.

    The final part of the event was dedicated to the award ceremony of the creative competition “Your Voice, Your Idea”. The contest demonstrated that students have a strong awareness of the significance of academic integrity and are ready to contribute to the creation of a healthy educational environment through their creativity.
    According to the jury decision, the winners in different categories were named:
    Video Work: In the category where plagiarism prevention was presented through creative visual storytelling, the winner was Lizi Psuturi;

    Slogan and Poster: For a creative and original concept, engaging design and effective message, the award was given to Elene Shanshiashvili;

    Essay: For an in-depth analysis of the role of academic integrity and well-reasoned argumentation, the winner’s title was awarded to Mariam Tabatadze.
