On March 16–20, a “France–Georgia Staff Week” was held in France, hosted by the University of Rennes, co-funded by the European Union and organized by the French-Georgian University (FGU).

The event was attended by representatives of Caucasus International University: Professor Davit Maghradze, Head of the Doctoral Educational Program in Georgian Viticulture and Enology and Deputy Dean for Research, and Svetlana Kirakosyan, Head of the International Relations Department.

The staff week aimed to strengthen institutional ties between higher education institutions in France and Georgia, promote the sharing of experience and plan new joint projects.

Key topics discussed during the week included: the official launch of the new Erasmus+ project (KA171), which will support international mobility of students and academic staff during 2025–2028; the development of double degree programs between French and Georgian universities; sharing experiences on current issues such as digital transformation, artificial intelligence in education and healthy campus management strategies.

Within the framework of the project, participants also visited other member institutions of the consortium: Sciences Po – where discussions focused on increasing international mobility of students and staff within the Erasmus+ KA171 project; INSA Rennes – where emphasis was placed on technological innovation and future cooperation; EHESP – where future partnerships in the field of public health were discussed.

Caucasus International University joined the Franco-Georgian Erasmus+ KA171 consortium (2025–2028) in 2025, which is coordinated by the University of Rennes. This prestigious consortium, awarded a grant of €900,180, brings together 19 higher education institutions — 8 from France and 11 from Georgia — to strengthen academic collaboration, promote mobility, and develop joint educational initiatives. Membership in this consortium reflects Caucasus International University’s international recognition and engagement.
