    An International Scientific Conference on International Relations, International Law and Media Opens at CIU

    On March 12, Caucasus International University hosted an international scientific conference “Contemporary Challenges in International Relations, International Law and Media”. The two-day event, held in a hybrid format, brings together over 100 Georgian and international researchers and scholars.

    The high academic status of the conference is ensured by the diversity of its organizers, participants and speakers. The forum was organized with the involvement of the Faculties of Social Sciences and Humanities and Law at Caucasus International University, the Department of Eurasian Studies at the Jagiellonian University (Poland), Józef Gołuchowski University of Applied Sciences (Poland), the University of Białystok (Poland), Al-Farabi Kazakh National University (Kazakhstan) and the Center for Strategic Policy and International Relations Analysis.
    At the opening ceremony of the conference, participants were addressed by representatives from both the academic and public sectors. The following speakers presented to the audience: Kakhaber Kordzaia – Rector of Caucasus International University; Ekaterine Chalaganidze – Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities, Caucasus International University; George Khatidze – Dean of the Faculty of Law, Caucasus International University; Giorgi Dgebuadze – Deputy Minister of Justice of Georgia; Mindia Ugrekhelidze – Academician of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Emeritus Professor at Caucasus International University; Salome Tkeshelashvili – Director of the Training Center of the Georgian Bar Association; Maia Shukhoshvili – Head of the Department of Higher Education Development, Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia; Richard Farkas – Professor at DePaul University; Anna Jahi – Vice Director of the Institute of Eurasian Studies, Jagiellonian University, Professor; Kinga Flaga-Gieruszynska – Vice-Rector at the University of Szczecin, Professor; Oliver Steward – PhD in Political Science, Professor at the Royal Institute of International Affairs (United Kingdom); Orkhan Yolchuyev – Director of the Center for Strategic Policy and International Relations Analysis (CASPIA). During the conference, Professor Vakhtang Maisaya presented to the audience a special message from Professor Pawel Gotowiecki, Józef Gołuchowski University of Applied Sciences.

    Following the official opening ceremony, the conference continued its work in four thematic sections. Scholars, experts and researchers discussed field-specific issues in the following areas: International Relations and Contemporary Political Processes; International Security in the 21st Century; International Law; and Media.

    The aim of the international scientific conference is to provide a scholarly analysis of the challenges facing the fields of international relations, law, and media, and to explore ways of responding to them. In addition, the forum seeks to foster closer academic ties between universities and researchers, promote the exchange of experience, and create a strong platform for future joint projects.
