On May 1, an opening ceremony of the professional training program - “Geriatric Assistant” was held at Caucasus International University. This educational initiative is implemented within the framework of the Tbilisi Municipality City Hall project “Learn and Get Employed”, which aims to promote vocational education and support employment. The program has enrolled its full cohort of 15 participants and will run for the duration of 8 weeks.

The training curriculum is comprehensive and combines both theoretical and practical components, which will be conducted at the University’s Faculty of Medicine. In addition to academic instruction, participants will gain practical experience at the “Friendly Community” Center for the Elderly. The opening ceremony was attended by representatives of the university’s academic staff and administration, as well as a delegation from Tbilisi City Hall, highlighting the project’s social and public significance.

The successful implementation of the project is ensured by the Vocational Education Center of Caucasus International University, which was established in January 2023 under the leadership of Tea Osepashvili. The mission of the Center is to adapt the education system to modern challenges and to promote the effective integration of the university into the national vocational education system.

An important milestone in the Center’s institutional development was the decision of the National Center for Educational Quality Enhancement on August 8, 2024, granting the Center authorization to implement three certificate programs. This accreditation enables the Center to issue state-recognized certificates, providing graduates with strong professional legitimacy and enhanced employment opportunities. The current program represents a successful realization of the Center’s strategic development plan, as well as the memorandum of understanding signed with Tbilisi City Hall.
