    “AI Ecosystem: From Knowledge to Innovation” - Education Week

    On the occasion of the Artificial Intelligence Appreciation Day (July 16), the Faculty of Business and Technology of Caucasus International University is pleased to invite you to a series of educational events dedicated to AI - “AI Ecosystem: From Knowledge to Innovation”;

    Week Period: July 3-16;

    The series of events will include:

    • Public lectures;
    • Practical trainings and workshops;
    • Presentation of the Bachelor’s educational program in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence.

    Educational events are intended for entrants, students, academic staff and all interested persons who want to deepen their knowledge about artificial intelligence and get acquainted with its capabilities in practice.

    Event Schedule:

    • July 3, 14:00, Room 101

    Topic: “Presentation of the Bachelor's Educational Program in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence”;

    Speaker: Tea Todua - Head of the Bachelor’s Educational Program in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Caucasus International University, Professor, Member of the Georgian Association for Artificial Intelligence (GAIA).

    • July 6, 14:00, Room 505

    Topic: “Using Artificial Intelligence Tools in the Educational Process”;

    The training is intended for academic and visiting staff;

    Speaker: Mzia Kiknadze - Associate Professor at Caucasus International University;

    This is a practical training aimed at the effective integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLM) in academic activities. Participants will learn about modern platforms for generating text, presentations and visual material, as well as automated methods of information processing and analysis.

    Special emphasis will be placed on effective prompting strategies - how to set the right tasks for AI to obtain the highest quality results.

    The training will also discuss issues of academic integrity, including the ethical framework for using AI in research and modern approaches to plagiarism prevention. In addition, participants will learn about the functional capabilities of AI-detectors and their real limitations, which is important for the responsible use of technologies in the academic space.

    Topic: “Big Data and AI: The Driving Force of the Digital Age”;

    Public lecture is intended for the general public;

    Speaker: Gulnara Janelidze - Professor at Caucasus International University;

    90% of the world’s data is complete chaos! Old, traditional Excel spreadsheets and SQL databases can no longer cope with this wave. It is in this chaos that the tandem of Big Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) is born.

    The lecture will cover the following topics:

    • Data Anatomy: How Unstructured Chaos Leads to Big Data;
    • Real Medical Case: How AI Reads Patient History, Turns It into Code, and Makes Accurate Diagnosis Much Faster;
    • Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Machine Learning (ML);
    • Global Tasks Solved by Big Data and ML.

    Big Data & AI is no longer just dry statistics, it is about saved lives and changed futures!

    Topic: “AI & Entrepreneurship: A New Paradigm of Competencies”

    Public lecture is intended for the general public;

    Speaker: Ia Nadirashvili - Head of the “Business Incubator” of Caucasus International University;

    In the era of artificial intelligence, the question is increasingly being asked: which skills will remain valuable when AI performs many professional tasks more effectively than humans?

    If technical knowledge is changing rapidly and automation is conquering new areas every day, what will be the competency that will give us a competitive advantage in the future?

    In this meeting, we will discuss why entrepreneurial thinking, creativity, initiative, problem-solving skills, and opportunity-seeking are the most sought-after competencies of the 21st century.

    Topic: “AI Agents and the Digital Workforce: The Future of Work Environment Today”;

    The workshop is intended for students, professionals, entrepreneurs and any interested person who wants to understand how to turn artificial intelligence into a real support tool in everyday work;

    Speaker: Giorgi Kakashvili - Head of the Bachelor’s Educational Program in Information Technology, Professor at Caucasus International University;

    Are you interested in how artificial intelligence can simplify your work, save time and automatically perform daily tasks?

    We invite you to a workshop where we will show you, using simple and practical examples, how modern AI agents are used to simplify work processes, create digital workflows and increase productivity.

  • Topic: “AI and the Challenges of Sustainable Development”;

    Public lecture is intended for the general public;

    Speaker: Ketevan Nanobashvili - Dean, Professor, Faculty of Business and Technology, Caucasus International University;

    Digital transformation and artificial intelligence today determine the pace of development of the economy, education and everyday life, however, this progress is accompanied by significant ecological and social challenges.

    At the public lecture, we will discuss how the energy footprint of data centers and generative AI is growing and what impact this has on climate processes. Special attention will also be paid to the ethical aspects of e-waste, digital inequality and technological development.

    The lecture will touch on modern concepts of “green IT” and innovative approaches that ensure a balance between technological progress and the environment.

    Topic: “Building a Simple AI Chatbot”;

    The workshop is intended for the general public;

    Speaker: Sophio Barnov - Associate Professor at Caucasus International University;

    A practical workshop will be held where participants will learn what a chatbot is and how to create one.

    A chatbot is a program that answers user questions. The user writes a question, and the chatbot reads the text, recognizes important words and returns an answer. During the workshop, participants will create a simple chatbot step by step that can answer various questions.

    The workshop is designed for beginners and no prior knowledge is required. At the end of the meeting, all participants will see how a chatbot works and how it can be further developed.

    • July 16 - Closing of the week
