Study and Research
- Individuals holding a Master’s degree or an equivalent academic qualification are eligible to pursue doctoral studies.
- Graduates from foreign universities may also be granted the right to enroll in a doctoral program, in accordance with the provisions of Article 50 of the Law of Georgia on Higher Education.

- Notarized copies of Master’s Degree or an equivalent academic degree and its supplement (the university is entitled to require from the applicant or an already enrolled doctoral student to submit a document on the recognition of the diploma in accordance with the legislation. Failure to submit a recognition document within a reasonable time can serve as a ground for refusal of enrollment or invalidation of the enrollment of a doctoral student);

- Documentation of previous papers/publications in the relevant field, participation in scientific research projects and events, and/or at least 2 years of professional experience in the relevant field.
Research Topic Project should include the following elements:
- The doctoral candidate’s perspective on the relevance and significance of the proposed topic;
- The scientific and practical value of the proposed topic;
- The methods that will be utilized during research and analysis;
- A well-supported preliminary views/expectation.
(Note: After enrollment in the doctoral program, the topic of the submitted project may be revised or modified, either partially or fully, based on the doctoral student’s interests.)
Residency is a postgraduate professional training program in medical education that, according to Georgian legislation, must be completed by graduates to obtain the necessary medical qualifications and be granted the right to become independent medical practitioners.
The duration of residency programs varies depending on the medical specialty. Alternative postgraduate education (professional training) is implemented in accordance with residency programs approved by the Ministry of Labor, Health, and Social Affairs of Georgia, accredited by the Professional Development Council of the Ministry of Labor, Health, and Social Affairs, and approved by the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia.
The program mainly focuses on practical training while also fostering the development of a resident’s scientific skills.
Upon completion of the residency program, the graduate will receive a certificate of residency completion, which grants the right to take the state certification examination in order to acquire a state certification.

Residency Program in Therapeutic Dentistry
Tuition fees - 7000 GEL The program was accredited on 12.04.2024 by the decision N7 of the Accreditation Council for Professional Development of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.
Accreditation for 3 years.
The goal of the program is to develop a competitive dentist with a relevant medical education and to gain relevant experience for future independent medical practice.
The program has a quota of 2 candidates.
Program Duration: 11 months.

Upon successful completion of the full residency course, the resident will receive the relevant certificate. To gain the right to practice independently in the medical field, the graduate must pass the state certification exam. After certification, a dentist who has completed the residency program is qualified to work as a therapist-dentist in any medical-prophylactic institution, regardless of its organizational or legal affiliation.
Enrollment Procedure
Enrollment in CIU residency programs follows the guidelines set by Georgian legislation. It is based on passing the Unified Postgraduate Qualification Exam and successfully completing an interview with the University Admissions Committee.
Enrollment Prerequisites
To be considered for a residency educational program, applicants must possess a specialty seeker’s certificate and/or a corresponding certificate obtained through successful completion of the Unified Postgraduate Qualification Exam. The results of this exam are valid for 3 years.
Admission to the residency program is conducted on a competitive basis, within the framework of a previously announced admission quota.
