Caucasus International University hosted the presentation of a new monograph by Tinatin Gogashvili, Doctor of Business Administration and Assistant Professor titled “Basics of Change Management. Architect of the Future: Rebooting Organizations”. The event became an important platform for discussing modern challenges in organizational management and issues related to systemic transformation.
The presentation was moderated by the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Technology at CIU, Professor Ketevan Nanobashvili, who placed emphasis on the role of the university in supporting academic staff and researchers.
The author discussed in details the motivation and many years of experience that led to the creation of this fundamental work. As stated by Tinatin Gogashvili, the idea emerged from several years of practical experience while working in managerial positions within Georgian organizations, where a clear mismatch between outdated models and modern requirements became evident.
“The theoretical knowledge I obtained at the university clearly demonstrated the necessity of changing old models, it still left open the question of how and by what means these changes should be implemented,” the author noted during her speech.
The monograph places special emphasis on the Georgian reality, where managerial problems are accompanied by political, socio-economic and mental barriers. The author’s goal was to adapt Western models to the Georgian context and to demonstrate their viability.
The work explores organizations as complex socio-economic systems. Tinatin Gogashvili discussed the nature of evolutionary change—from the wear and tear of personnel and equipment to radical reforms driven by market dynamics. In her opinion, the key to success lies not in template-based solutions, but in principled collaboration between leaders and employees.
“Any change is a complex process, and there are no ready-made instructions. The success of transformation lies in adhering to change management principles and in the specific socio-cultural core that each organization possesses,” the author stated.
The monograph is already available to an international audience. It has been published in English and translated into Italian, Spanish, German, and French. The book can be found on the global platform Amazon, and as of today, it will also be included in the university library collection. The author noted that she continues to work actively and plans to present a Georgian-language version of the book in the fall.
The event was attended by the Rector of Caucasus International University, Kakhaber Kordzaia. During the presentation, invited guests spoke about the author’s qualities, her scientific activities, and the significance of the book. The speakers included: Marina Gedevanishvili – Head of CIU Quality Assurance Service, Nino Mindiashvili – Head of CIU Doctoral Studies Service, Tea Kasradze – Head of the Master’s Educational Program in International Business Management at CIU, Mamuka Toria – Head of the Bachelor’s Educationa Program in Management at CIU, Davit Tsiklauri – Director of the Research Support Department at Caucasus University, Maia Chechelashvili – Full member (academician) of the Georgian Academy of Business Sciences and reviewer of the book and Maia Benia – Professor at Georgian Technical University.
