Condolence Letter

Caucasus International University expresses its profound sorrow on the passing of His Holiness and Beatitude, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia, Archbishop of Mtskheta–Tbilisi and Metropolitan of Bichvinta and Tskhum-Abkhazia, Ilia II.
Our nation has lost an extraordinary spiritual leader whose life embodied unwavering devotion to Christ and selfless service to the homeland.
His Holiness was a steadfast supporter of education and scientific advancement, deeply believing in the unifying power of knowledge and spirituality. With his blessing, the Faculty of Viticulture and Enology was established at our university, and in 2017, Caucasus International University Scientific Award “Tamar” was founded under his guidance. These contributions stand as a testament to his profound commitment to preserving Georgian traditions, advancing scholarship, and fostering the professional growth of future generations.
We do believe that his legacy and teachings will continue to inspire and guide our nation, and that his heavenly prayers will remain a source of strength for our country and the Holy Church.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the people of Georgia and the entire Orthodox Christian world.
