Caucasus International University (CIU) announces a grant competition – “Encouraging initiatives of academic staff and students for Science Popularization”.
The Purpose of the Competition
The purpose of the Caucasus International University Science Popularization Grant Competition is to encourage student initiatives to integrate them into scientific areas and develop leadership skills, to further stimulate their knowledge and interest in new scientific knowledge. Also, to encourage academic staff initiatives, in the implementation of which university students/graduates are involved.
Competition Guidelines
Projects submitted within the framework of the competition shall cover one or more of the following topics/activities:
- Organizing educational tours for schoolchildren to the faculties and research centers of Caucasus International University.
- Organizing competitions, workshops and webinars dedicated to scientific topics for students and schoolchildren.
- Organizing scientific picnics.
- Popularizing the results of scientific research on social media, creating a blog, podcast or video.
- An exhibition or trade show dedicated to a scientific topic.
- Popularization of topics of national importance based on scientific content. or through other activities.
Project Duration: The duration of the project registered for the competition must be at least 1 and no more than 12 months.
Funding Requested from the University:
- The funding requested from the university for the implementation of the project shall not exceed 5,000 GEL, if the project initiator is an affiliated academic staff of the university with the status of project leader.
- The amount requested from the university for the implementation of the project should not exceed 2,000 GEL, if the project initiator is a university student with the status of project leader.

At the electronic registration stage, the content of the project and attached documents submitted for participation in the competition must be sent to the e-mail address science@ciu.edu.ge
The mandatory documentation to be submitted within the framework of the competition includes:
- Project proposal (Appendix 1)
- Professional biographies (CVs) of key and supporting personnel (Appendix 2)
- Project time-frame (Appendix 3)
- Project budget and its justification (Appendix 4)
