    About the Project:

    The project includes an urban game entitled “Following the Footsteps of Poles in Tbilisi” (https://ubb.edu.pl/aktualnosci/ubb-zrealizuje-gre-miejska-609.html), which represents an interactive and educational way of learning the Polish language by combining the elements of outdoor games with exploring traces of Polish history in the capital of Georgia. Participants will follow a designated route through the city and visit locations connected with the presence and activities of the Polish people.

    During the walk, they will complete short language tasks based on everyday situations and authentic vocabulary, including word-matching exercises, sentence completion and quizzes about Polish–Georgian relations. Each correct answer will lead players to the next point on the route and reveal a fragment of shared history.

    The urban game will be available in electronic format, which will encourage participation, expand its reach and allow learning to be engaging by combining movement and exploration of the city.

    The project is preceded by research into gamification and the structure of outdoor games, which will result in the publication of an educational guide and information about Polish traces in Tbilisi. The game elements and instructions will be presented in the form of short promotional videos.

    Specialists and academics will be involved in the project; they will conduct surveys and prepare a summary article.

    Main Objective:

    The main objective of the project is to promote the Polish language and culture abroad. This goal will be achieved through the development of a city-based game that introduces new vocabulary in an attractive and engaging way, helps organize previously learned language material, and incorporates elements of Polish history and culture.

    The key advantage of the project is its universality—the game can be successfully used both as a valuable supplement to Polish as a foreign language classes and as a promotional tool for foreigners interested in the history of Tbilisi, presented from an unusual perspective: through traces of Polish presence in the capital of Georgia. Examples of such Polish heritage sites include the Henryck Hryniewski Hall opened at the National Parliamentary Library of Georgia, and the National Theatre designed by Aleksander Szymkiewicz.

    The project also supports the internationalization of science and higher education and strengthens transnational academic cooperation, fostering the development of long-term relationships based on mutual respect and understanding.

    Project Outcomes:

    An urban game available at two levels: A0/A1and B1/B2.

    The A0/A1 level is intended for beginners and for those seeking an engaging way to learn about the language and history of Poles in Tbilisi. The B1/B2 level will serve as educational support for advanced learners and Polish tourists.

    An educational guide on gamification, focusing on the structure of outdoor games, including urban games;

    A guidebook on Polish trails in Tbilisi;

    The University of Bielsko-Biała (Bielsko-Biała, Poland, https://ubb.edu.pl/en/) actively develops cooperation with foreign academic centers and plans joint research and educational projects. It supports the mobility of students and staff through international programs, including participation in Erasmus+. Internationalization is a key element of the university development strategy.
