The “Kavkasieli” - folk song and Georgian folk dance ensembles of Caucasus International University (CIU) performed at the “Ethno Festival in Georgia – Uplistsikhe 2026”, an event dedicated to the 1700th anniversary of the Christianization of Georgia.

The festival aimed to promote Georgia’s centuries-old Christian heritage, national culture, traditions, historical memory, and spiritual values within a modern format that aligns with international standards.

The festival was founded on the idea that Georgian identity has evolved over centuries through the integration of fundamental values: faith, homeland, individual identity, culture, and national unity. The event served to bring these values to life and promote them among future generations, once again highlighting the rich diversity of Georgian folklore and cultural heritage.

In a festival featuring 37 ensembles, the “Kavkasieli” folk song ensemble of Caucasus International University—under the supervision of Bezhan Tsintsalashvili—introduced the audience to the unique tradition of Georgian polyphonic singing.

The “Kavkasieli” Georgian folk dance ensemble, led by choreographer Gigi Kilasonia, also achieved notable success; their performance earned high praise from the jury, and the ensemble emerged as a winner of the festival.

The success of “Kavkasieli” further underscores the importance of promoting Georgian culture, folklore, and national traditions at Caucasus International University, as well as the dedication of the young people who are making a significant contribution to the preservation and development of Georgian cultural heritage.
