Meeting with Representatives of the Agribusiness Incubator Project

Caucasus International University Business Incubator hosted a meeting with the representatives of the Agribusiness Incubator Project, which is a joint initiative of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture of Georgia and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).

The meeting was led by Ia Nadirashvili, Head of the Business Incubator at Caucasus International University.

The meeting was attended by Jim Thaler, an international agribusiness expert, Julian Webb, an international innovation and entrepreneurship expert, Giorgi Karanadze, a national expert on legal and financial issues at the Ministry of Agriculture, and Irakli Chavleshvili, national expert on agribusiness and innovation.

Ketevan Nanobashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Technology, also participated in the meeting. This once again emphasizes the integrated involvement of the university academic and innovation resources in the process of entrepreneurship and agribusiness development.

The meeting discussed the prospects for the development of Georgian agri-food sector, the role of innovation, entrepreneurship and education, as well as the possible involvement of universities, especially business incubators, in the process of strengthening the agribusiness ecosystem.

It was noted that Georgia has significant potential in the production of high-quality, niche and value-added agri-food products, especially through the development of small and medium-sized enterprises. It is precisely in order to fully utilize this potential that the Agribusiness Incubator initiative is being implemented, the goal of which is to connect entrepreneurs, farmers, educational and scientific institutions, investors and other market participants, promote innovations and support the development of competitive Georgian agribusinesses.

Emphasis has been placed on the experience of Caucasus International University Business Incubator in promoting entrepreneurship, developing startups, providing business education, and strengthening the innovation ecosystem. It was noted that the university business incubator represents an important platform for collaboration between students, young entrepreneurs, the business sector and international partners.

The parties highlighted the significant role of the academic sector and university-based business incubators in the development of the agribusiness ecosystem and expressed their readiness to continue cooperation in the future to promote sustainable, inclusive and innovation-based development of Georgian agri-food sector.
