Science Week for Pupils

Caucasus International University hosted a science week for seniors and entrants – “Discover, Explore, Create”. The initiative was implemented through the joint efforts of CIU Scientific Research Department and the Public Relations Service. The main mission of the project was to provoke interest in scientific research among young people and introduce them to the diverse opportunities that the University offers to future researchers. Throughout the month, participants had the opportunity to attend a lecture course led by leading specialists in the field.
The topics of the week turned out to be diverse and equally covered both fundamental sciences and the most important global challenges of modernity.
The lecture series was opened on May 11 by the Head of the Scientific Research Department of Caucasus International University, Doctor of Philology Sesili Gogiberidze. In her presentation “The Nobel Prize and Its Laureates,” students travelled through the history of world-class discoveries. On May 18, Shorena Kurdadze, Deputy Head of the same department, Associate Professor at CIU, and Doctor of Business Administration, shared a practical guide to transforming research interest into professional success with the participants of the meeting during her lecture, “The Career Path of a Scientist.”
On May 25, current trends in the information space were discussed with Sulkhan Meladze, Deputy Head of the University Multimedia Center, who delivered a lecture to the audience on “Modern Challenges of the Media and Priorities of Media Schools”. May 27 was fully devoted to national-state topics - CIU Doctoral Programs Coordinator, Associate Professor and Doctor of History Ketevan Shoshiashvili made a presentation on the topic “May 26 - Independence Day of Georgia”, thereby once again emphasizing the need to preserve historical memory among the younger generation.
The scientific week ended on May 29 with a presentation by Professor Zaza Tsotniashvili. The topic - “Artificial Intelligence and School” provoked great interest, as it analysed in detail the role of AI technologies and their transformative impact on the modern school and university education system.
The project “Discover, Explore, Create” gave future students a unique chance to take their first steps towards great science and see with their own eyes the broad academic perspectives that the creative and research environment of Caucasus International University offers them.
