On October 2, the international scientific conference “Education and Science in the Epoch of Artificial Intelligence: Innovations, Research, and International Collaboration” was opened at the Georgian National Academy of Sciences.
The hybrid-format conference was chaired by Roin Metreveli, President of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences. The participants were welcomed by Givi Mikanadze, Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia; Zviad Gabisonia, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia; Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Committee of Georgian Parliament and other distinguished guests.
It is noteworthy that Kakha Kordzaia, Rector of Caucasus International University, also addressed the participants, and laced emphasis on the university activities in the field of artificial intelligence.
The Rector’s speech mainly highlighted research, academic initiatives, and international collaborations conducted by various faculties and professors of CIU in the field of artificial intelligence.
“In the context of global transformation, the use of artificial intelligence for Caucasus International University is not merely an acknowledgment of a technological trend — it is our strategic choice. We do believe that the future of knowledge lies in the synergy between human and artificial intelligence,” — stated Kakha Kordzaia.
The goal of the international conference is to discuss the practical and strategic impact of artificial intelligence on education systems, scientific research, and institutional development processes.
Georgian and foreign scholars, education and science policymakers, and innovators from Georgia and Europe participate in the conference.
The first day is dedicated to strategic visions of universities, international speakers, projects, and presentations by Georgian academics. On the second day, local research and innovations in education and science related to AI will be presented. Among the speakers are CIU professors George Khatidze, Giorgi Kakashvili, and Zaza Tsotniashvili.
The conference is organized by the Georgian National Academy of Sciences and the Horizon Europe Georgia National Office of the Ministry of Education, Science, and Youth of Georgia.
