    CIU Vocational Education Center / Vocational Programs

    Vocational Education Center of Caucasus International University was established in 2023. The aim of the center is to integrate into Georgian vocational education system. Upon completion of vocational programs, graduates are awarded a state-recognized bilingual (Georgian/English) certificate with a supplement. The Director of the Center is Ms.Tea Osepashvili, an expert in non-formal and vocational education.

    Under the administration of the Vocational Education Center, the following vocational programs were implemented in 2024โ€“2025:

    • โ€œViticulture Specialistโ€โ€“ a vocational training program, 3rd Level of National Qualification Framework;
    • โ€œWinemaker-Technicianโ€โ€“ a vocational retraining program, 4th Level of National Qualification Framework.

    These programs were funded by the LEPL State Employment Support Agency. Both programs, implemented at Tbilisi and Okami bases, have a total of 42 graduates.

    The program implementers are academic staff of CIU Faculty of Viticulture and Enology: Ms.Olani Gotsiridze, Mr. Lasha Bodaveli, Ms.Maia Mirvelashvili, and Ms. Londa Mamaskhilashvili; as well as industry/viticulture specialists: Mr. Vazha Ozashvili and Mr.Temur Kapanadze.

    The University has also obtained authorization to implement the vocational training programโ€œGeriatric Assistantโ€(3rd Level).

    The program implementers are academic staff of CIU Faculty of Medicine: Ms. Maka Gabidzashvili, Ms. Nano Shvangiradze and Ms.Ketevan Veliashvili.

    The following programs are implemented by CIU Vocational Education Center:

    • Winemaker-Technician โ€“ a vocational retraining program, 4th Level of National Qualification Framework.

    Program Duration: 10 weeks

    Average Weekly Workload: 14 hours (total: 146 hours)

    Classes are conducted both in classrooms and in a real working environment at the University facilities. The course is connected with the technological cycle of wine production in relation to the seasons. It is possible to use grapes stored in cold storage facilities to achieve the relevant learning outcomes.

    Program Objective: To retrain qualified technicians working in the winemaking sector and to supply the labor market with skilled personnel, taking into account international experience in vocational education as well as national traditions and specific characteristics.

    Employment Opportunities: Viticulture and winemaking companies, farming enterprises or self-employment within a family-owned farm.

    • Viticulture Specialist โ€“ a vocational retraining program, 3rd Level of National Qualification Framework.

    Program Duration: 6 weeks

    Average Weekly Workload: 22 hours (total: 132 hours)

    Classes are conducted both in classrooms and in a real working environment at the University facilities.

    Program Objective: To train a highly qualified specialist in the field of viticulture who will be able to: select and prepare vineyard areas, establish vineyards, carry out seasonal vineyard operations in accordance with agrotechnological standards, harvest, store and market grapes. The graduate is a qualified worker who performs tasks assigned by a viticulturist or a viticulturistโ€“winemaker within the framework of their duties.

    Employment Opportunities: Viticulture and winemaking companies, farming enterprises, or self-employment within a family-owned farm.

    • โ€œGeriatric Assistantโ€ โ€“ a vocational training program, 3rd Level of National Qualification Framework.

    Program Duration: 8 weeks

    Average Weekly Workload: 18 hours (total: 144 hours)

    Enrollment in the program is open to any interested person aged 18 and above who wishes to be employed as a caregiver in a long-term care institution and to study modern approaches to caring for elderly (geriatric) individuals.

    Practical classes are conducted at the University facilities. During the program, a visit to a real working environment is planned.

    Program Objective: To enable learners to acquire knowledge and skills tailored to the care needs of elderly (geriatric) individuals, which includes: providing care with consideration of illnesses and individual characteristics; effective communication; performing care-related procedures; nutrition; maintaining hygiene; dressing and undressing; bed preparation, changing bed linen and personal linen; assistance with mobility; ensuring patient safety creating a comfortable and accessible environment for the patient and assisting with mobility; observing sanitary, hygienic, and epidemiological standards.

    Employment Opportunities: Long-term healthcare facilities (nursing homes, home and community-based services, day care centers).





    1. โ€œMaintenance of Primary Accounting Documentationโ€ โ€“ Vocational Training Program, Level 4

    Program duration - 11 weeks;

    Average Weekly Workload - 15 hours (total: 165 hours);

    A person with secondary education can study on the program;

    Classes are held in the classrooms at the university facilities.

    Program Objective: To introduce learners to the theoretical and practical aspects of accounting, and to facilitate the development of their ability to understand, analyse and evaluate economic transactions. Students will be able to: perform basic accounting procedures; classify and process accounting information; prepare documents according to economic transactions; record accounting entries; perform computational tasks; use computerized accounting software effectively; prepare and submit tax declarations (within the framework of their competencies).

    Employment Opportunities: employment in private and public institutions, accounting and financial departments of non-governmental organizations and auditing and consulting firms as Accountant, Assistant Accountant, Accounting Clerk and Accounting Operator. In addition, self-employment is possible through private professional practice.

    1. โ€œZero Emission Agriculture Managementโ€ - Vocational Retraining Program, Level 5

    Program Duration - 10 weeks

    Average Weekly Workload - 20 hours (total 184 hours).

    The program is open to anyone with a vocational or higher education in the field of agriculture or environmental protection or at least one year of work experience in the same fields, completion of secondary education is mandatory.

    Classes are held in the classroom and in a real working environment, at the facilities of the university and the partner organization - LLC ESCO-E: Tbilisi, Okami, Bazaleti.

    Program Objective: to prepare highly motivated and competitive personnel who possess modern knowledge and practical skills in the field of zero emission and sustainable agriculture. The program enables graduates to effectively respond to the challenges posed by climate change and successfully engage in the transformation process of the agro-sector, with the following competencies: planning and implementing climate-smart agriculture strategies; organizing and implementing waste management and composting systems; implementing precision agriculture, digital technologies and renewable energy solutions; monitoring and reporting greenhouse gas emissions; planning, economic and financial analysis of low-emission agriculture; effective management of low-emission systems - in compliance with applicable norms and standards for communication, occupational safety and hygiene.

    Employment opportunities in the fields of: engineering, manufacturing and construction; agriculture, forestry, fisheries and veterinary medicine.

    1. โ€œManagement of Electronic Systems of Small and Medium-Sized Wineriesโ€ - Vocational Retraining Program, level 4

    Program Duration - 5 weeks;

    Average Weekly Workload - 10 hours (total 50 hours).

    The program is open to individuals who hold a vocational or higher education qualification in viticulture and winemaking, have at least one year of work experience in a viticulture and winemaking farm or enterprise, or are currently enrolled in a vocational or higher education program in viticulture and winemaking. Applicants must be at least 18 years of age.

    The classes are conducted in the university classrooms and in a simulated and real working environment, at university facilities.

    Program Objective: to retrain and prepare qualified personnel equipped with the competencies in the electronic management systems of small and medium-sized wineries for the labor market, taking into account the international experience of vocational education, national traditions and peculiarities. The vocational training program will support the development of small and family enterprises/wine cellars in the country, which produce wine and alcoholic beverages of grape origin in accordance with international standards. The program provides training in enterprise registration, certification and management, insurance, fundraising and bio-certification in compliance with the legislation. All this, in turn, will increase the number of employees and self-employed people in the regions, along with other related beneficial processes (bringing and supplying the necessary raw materials, selling on the local and international markets, etc.). Graduates of the program, within the scope of their competence, will be involved in the electronic management processes of small and medium-sized wineries and related enterprises - under the direct supervision of a winemaker-technologist.

    Employment opportunities in the following fields: engineering, production and manufacturing, construction; food processing.



    1. โ€œYouth Participation and Activity Managementโ€ - Vocational Retraining Program, Level 5

    Program Duration - 17 weeks;

    Average Weekly Workload - 15 hours (total 255 hours).

    Prerequisites for admission to the program - work experience in educational institutions or children centers or camps or an active student in a vocational or higher education institution with at least 1 year of experience working in the field of non-formal education; Required age - 18 years.

    Or qualification in the relevant field of the program:

    • Healthcare, social welfare;
    • Social welfare;
    • Child care and adolescent services.

    Classes are conducted in the classrooms and in a real work environment, at university facilities.

    Program Objective: to prepare highly qualified, motivated and competitive personnel in the field of youth work who will be successfully employed in the labor market. After completing the program, graduates will have the following competencies: professional analysis of the interests, capabilities and needs of the youth; strengthening youth participation using modern approaches to leadership and teamwork, effective planning and management of youth projects, as well as organizing and implementing non-formal educational activities. The program is focused on enhancing key competencies, personal and professional skills, including gaining practical experience in youth work, effective provision of first aid and the formation of a culture of continuous self-development. Specialists trained within the program are personnel with increasing demand in the market, who fully respond to the needs of business operators and organizations operating in the youth field. The acquired competencies provide real economic benefits for both employers and promote the development of self-employment and entrepreneurship opportunities in the youth sector.

    Fields of Employment: Social and behavioral sciences, health care and social service activities - social service activities without accommodation.
