Georgian Literature in 90 Minutes: Global and Local - Project Presentation
The presentation of the series of films – “Georgian Literature in 90 Minutes. Global and Local" was held in the National Library of the Parliament of Georgia within the framework of the International Congress of Comparative Literature on July 25.
The project was prepared by the Multimedia Center of Caucasus International University, together with the Georgian Comparative Literature Association and TSU Shota Rustaveli Institute of Georgian Literature, with the support of the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia.
The project, which aims to present Georgian writers and their international achievements to the world community, consists of 9 films.
The films narrate about the authors who made Georgian literature the greatest treasure of world culture:
- Shota Rustaveli and the Place of Georgian Literature in Medieval Writing;
- Nikoloz Baratashvili and his “MeranI” in the Orbit of World Romantic Poetry;
- Ilia Chavchavadze – Struggle of Georgian Literature for Statehood and Citizenship Consciousness;
- Vazha-Pshavela and the Georgian Theory of Cosmopolitanism;
- “Artistic Flowers” by Galaktion Tabidze and “The Flowers of Evil” by Charles Baudelaire;
- Tbilisi - Avant-Garde City;
- Mikheil Javakhishvili – An Alternative to the Soviet Narrative in Georgian Writing;
- Ana Kalandadze - Woman-Poet and Renewal of Aesthetic Frameworks;
- Irakli Charkviani and “Smooth Swimming” Towards a Postmodernist Narrative.
The head of the project is the professor of Tbilisi State University, the president of the Georgian Comparative Literature Association (GCLA) - Irma Ratiani, the director of the project, the head of the Multimedia Center of Caucasus International University, Associate Professor of Tbilisi State University - Nino Chalaganidze.

Project “Warm City Tbilisi” by CIU Bachelor’s Educational Program in Tourism Students
On December 6, fourth-year students of the Bachelor’s Educational Program in Tourism at the Faculty of Business and Technology successfully implemented a practical learning activity – an introductory tour of Tbilisi for international students of the faculty, within the framework of the course “Event Management and MICE Tourism” (lecturer: Assoc. Prof. Nana Akhalaia).
