Faculty of Medicine
The Faculty of Medicine has been operating at Caucasus International University since 1995 and has had numerous successful and highly qualified alumni throughout its history.
CIU is a member of The World Directory of Medical Schools (World Federation for Medical Education (WFME) and Foundation for Advancement of International Medical Education and Research (FAIMER)).
Caucasus International University was included in the list of acknowledged foreign Medical Institutions by Medical Council of India (MCI) in 2016 and it became a member of an International Association for Health Professions Education “AMEE” in 2018.
The Faculty of Medicine offers the following accredited higher educational programs:
Each educational program provides comprehensive teaching of both basic and clinical disciplines. To facilitate this, the university has established: teaching laboratories for basic disciplines:
• Anatomy Lab and Simulation and Virtual Reality (VR) Lab equipped with the latest anatomical models and moulages, modern computer and high-tech teaching equipment.
• Biochemistry Teaching Lab;
• Microbiology Teaching Lab.
The Faculty of Medicine at Caucasus International University offers a Clinical Skills Center equipped with cutting-edge educational and medical technologies. This includes advanced medical simulators and mannequins from renowned manufacturers such as Gaumard, Nasco Life/Form, Limbs & Things, Laerdal, and 3B Scientific. The latter corporation is a world leader in the production of anatomical and medical-biological models (Hamburg, Germany). Medical simulators mimic real patients, allowing students to develop both clinical and communication skills.
Since 2022, the center has been a member of SESAM - Society in Europe for Simulation Applied to Medicine, which proves that it meets all the standards that include modern teaching and evaluation methods in medicine.
The aim of the Clinical Skills Center is to equip future doctors with practical clinical skills that meet the international standards of modern medical education. Students have the opportunity to acquire essential practical skills in such areas as basic clinical care, emergency, obstetrics and gynecology, resuscitation, therapy and surgery.
CIU Clinical Skills Center plays an important role in the education and formation of highly professional medical personnel.
Therapeutic Dentistry Residency Program
The Therapeutic Dentistry Residency Program is implemented on the basis of the university dental clinics which was accredited by the decision N7 of the Accreditation Council for Professional Development of the Ministry of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia.
Practical Teaching and Student Employment
Practical teaching in clinical disciplines is conducted at the partner clinics and medical institutions of the university. This hands-on experience aids successful students in real employment after graduation.
Students’ International Scientific Conference
Students’ international scientific conference is conducted at the University annually, which is very popular among higher educational institutions. CIU medical students are actively engaged in the conference.
Our university is attracting more and more international entrants and students. Currently, our students are the citizens of various countries, such as France, Poland, Portugal, Ukraine, Germany, Azerbaijan, Iran, Iraq, Turkey, Syria, Morocco, Nigeria, Egypt, India, Israel and Great Britain. The number of students significantly increases every semester.
