On 21 February, the presentation of the winning project in the grant competition announced by the Ministry of Justice of Georgia “Promotion of Legal Education among the Future Generation for the Security of the Legal State and Its Institutional Development” was held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
The winning students of the first stage of the project, representatives of various universities, public/private school principals and teachers attended the meeting.
The welcome speeches were delivered by: Tamar Zarandia, Dean of the Faculty of Law of TSU, Associate Professor; Maya Ivanidze, Head of Tinatin Tsereteli Scientific Society; Tornike Cheishvili, Deputy Minister of Justice; George Khatidze, Dean of the Faculty of Law of Caucasus International University, Professor and representatives/students of other higher institutions.
Within the framework of the project, training of trainers will be held for the first and second year students of the Faculty of Law of the higher educational institutions of Georgia.
It should be noted that Zaza Surguladze and Nini Bulia, students of the Faculty of Law of Caucasus International University, participated in the mentioned project, moved to the next stage and were among the 30 students participating in the project.
Within the frame of the training for trainers, students will have the opportunity to listen to lectures by leading practicing and theoretic lawyers on the following topics: “The Importance of Human Rights Protection and International Standards”; “The Role of the Ministry of Justice in Strengthening Legal Security”; “International Standards for the Protection of Children’s Rights”; “Protection of the Best Interests of Minors in Criminal Law”; “Personal Data Protection and Minors”; “Bullying in Schools and Its Prevention”; “Protection of Children from Domestic Violence”; “Minor Witness and Victim in Court Proceedings”; “Minors in Real Estate Transactions”; “Freedom and Mechanisms to Escape from Freedom” (psychologist).
Within the framework of the project, trainings will be held at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. After the completion of the trainings, a summative test will be conducted for the participants. Based on the testing, 8 students with the top results will be identified, who, together with the project leaders, will hold informative meetings with the students of Tbilisi, Gori, Lagodekhi and Batumi schools in March 2023.
The winner of the grant competition and the implementer of the project is Tinatin Tsereteli Scientific Society at Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University.
