A scientific conference was held at Caucasus International University on the topic: “At the Beginning of the First Republic of Georgia - Taking into Account the Current Constitutional Development” on June 5.
The conference was dedicated to the day of the restoration of independence of Georgia and the 180th anniversary of Niko Nikoladze’s birth.
The event was opened by George Khatidze, the Dean of Caucasus International University, who welcomed the audience and emphasized the importance of the theme of the conference.
Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Georgia to France, Gocha Javakhishvili, presented a ppaer on the “Heritage of the First Republic of Georgia” at the conference. Giorgi Pareshishvili, Adviser to the Rector of Caucasus International University, chair of Niko Nikoladze Society, made a presentation on the topic: “Niko Nikoladze - at the Beginning of the First Republic”. The professor of Hamline University (USA), David Schultz, spoke about the “Political Heritage of the US Constitution” and the topic "From the Referendum to the Restoration of Georgia’s Independence (1991, March 31-April 9)” was presented by Gigi Gioshvili, Assistant Professor of Caucasus University.
Judge Levan Darbaidze made a conference presentation on the topic: “The Role of the Judge in a Modern Democratic Society”, Professor Zurab Macharadze presented on the topic: “Status of the Head of State - Past and Present Status Quo”, Associate Professor Sofia Demetrashvili and CIU doctoral student Lia Nakhutsrishvili prepared a paper on the topic: “Bicameralism prospects in Georgia", CIU doctoral student Sofia Kurasbediani - “Specifics of the Implementation of Higher Educational Activities by Higher educational Theological Institutions” and Beka Kantaria, Associate Professor - “Constitutional Ideas and Processes in Georgian Journalism (1819-1900)”.
Administrative/academic staff and students of Caucasus International University attended the scientific conference.
