The Faculty of Social Sciences of Caucasus International University organized a public discussion on the topic: “Finland’s Accession to NATO and Georgia’s Euro-Atlantic Perspectives” on April 12.
The speakers of the discussion were Doctor of Geography, Associate Professor of Caucasus International University, Professor of International Black Sea University, Nika Chitadze and Doctor of Political Sciences, Professor of Caucasus International University, Professor of Warsaw University, Supervisor of CIU Postgraduate Program in International Relations and International Security, Vakhtang Maisaia.
The speakers discussed NATO expansion policy and the current challenges of the alliance. The issue of Finland’s accession, the geopolitical situation in the region and the prospects of further expansion were examined, placing emphasis on Georgia.
In the second part of the discussion, the listeners had the opportunity to state their position on the mentioned issue and ask the speakers interesting questions.
The event was moderated by Alika Guchua, Doctor of Political Science, Associate Professor of Caucasus International University, Supervisor of CIU Undergraduate Program in International Relations.
Public discussion was attended by the university administration and students.
