This is Our King Erekle… - The final stage of the educational competition of Caucasus International University
The final stage of Caucasus International University educational competition This is Our King Erekle… was held online on March 6 and 7.
The project, organized by Caucasus International University Public Relations Department, was attended by 10th, 11th and 12th grade students from private and public schools in Georgia (project author and supervisor, Marina Ugulava).
The participants of the competition were divided into 3 sections - Journalism, Tourism and Essay Writing.
The first session was devoted to the journalism section on March 6. Here the students had to present stories about the life and work of King Erekle, from which the jury selected the best works.
The section was opened by Kakhaber Kordzaia, Caucasus International University Rector who discussed the significance of the competition and wished success to each participant.
The places among the 32 works that moved to the final stage were distributed as follows:
1 place – Ekaterine Latsabidze, Lika Bliadze (Khashuri, Surami N3 Public School);
2 place – Nino Koghoshvili (Chkhorotsku, Akhuti N1 Public School);
3 place – Nino Khidasheli (Tbilisi, N191 Public School).

The second session of the day was dedicated to Tourism session. Here the contestants had to plan a virtual excursion to the place of their choice, the history of which would be related to King Erekle.
The places among the 8 works that moved to the final stage were distributed as follows:
1 place – Donara Antanosyan (Ninotsminda, Eshtia N1 Public School);
2 place – Keti Shavadze; Salome Jorbenadze; Kristine Dekanadze (Khulo, Kedlebi Public School);
3 place – Mariam Mchedlidze (Lagodekhi, Vardisubani Public School).
Committee members: Irma Baratashvili, Dean of the Faculty of Business at Caucasus International University, Associate Professor, Doctor of Business Administration; Lali Mikeladze, Supervisor of Undergraduate program in Tourism at Caucasus International University, Associate Professor, Doctor of Business Administration; Eka Devidze, Director of Tourism Company Saba, Professor.
The concluding session was devoted to the Essay Writing on March 7 which was opened by Kakhaber Kordzaia, Caucasus International University Rector.
In the section, the contestants were required to write essays on such important topics as: the life and work of Nikoloz Baratashvili’s “Fate of Kartli” and Erekle II; Erekle II - Grand Knight; Erekle II and European Education.
The places among the 15 works that moved to the final stage were distributed as follows:
1 place – Tamar Abdushelishvili (Tchiatura, N2 Public School);
2 place – Lizi Tkhilaishvili (Kobuleti, Secular School Parnavazi);
3 place – Lasha Abuladze (Kutaisi, Cadet Military Lyceum).
Committee members: Ana Gogilashvili, Doctor of Philology, Caucasus International University Doctoral Program Coordinator; Giorgi Pareshishvili – Caucasus International University PhD student; Madlen Paposhvili – Caucasus International University PhD student.
Prize winners and committee favourites were awarded with gifts and study vouchers from Caucasus International University, and all project participants were awarded certificates.
