Nino Kharitonashvili, Associate Professor at the Faculty of Law of Caucasus International University, representative of the Chamber of Notaries of Georgia, lawyer visited the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law - "UNIDROIT" within the framework of a working visit.
It should be noted that the Georgian version of the Model Code of the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law “International Civil Procedure Principles and Rules” is already available to Georgian readers, the translation of which was made by Nino Kharitonashvili within the framework of the exclusive license signed with the Institute.
The mentioned code constitutes a mixture of the civil procedural law of the world and its application is a measure of the legal culture of the country.
The printed version of the translation and Nino Kharitonashvili’s monographic work “Comparative Civil Process” were placed in the library of the Private Law Unification Institute. The issue of translating the unified work published on European civil procedures into Georgian was also discussed at the working meeting.
It should be noted that Georgia has not yet joined the International Institute for the Unification of Private Law - UNIDROIT. The existence of a model code in the Georgian language is the first step forward towards joining the international organization.
