An article by Alexander Rusetsky and Olga Dorokhina, researchers of the Caucasus Laboratory of Geopolitical Modelling at Caucasus International University - Monuments of Sorrow: Tools for Rooting Conflicts and Peacebuilding on the Example of Post-Soviet Georgia was published in Polish journal - Studies into the History of Russia and Central-Eastern Europe.
It is noteworthy that this is the first scientific paper to focus on the negative psychological impact of war monuments. In addition, it addressed the issue of a new generation of post-conflict monumentalism, which envisages the integration of architects and sculptors in peace processes.
The research was conducted by the support of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation. By February 2021, a presentation of this work is being prepared in the format of a tele-symposium.
