Caucasus International University shares the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) of the United Nations at the institutional level and, in active cooperation with the United Nations, promotes its implementation through the active involvement of scientific staff and students. For this purpose, Caucasus International University became a member of the UN Global Compact, with the initiative and efforts of the Faculty of Business and Technology.
The UN Global Compact is a global initiative that unites more than 23,800 companies and 3,000 non-entrepreneurial individuals from 167 countries around the world who are committed to creating a sustainable future. It is the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, helping to create a sustainable and inclusive global economy for people, society and markets.
The positive results that membership of the UN Global Compact will bring is worth noting:
The university has become a member of the world’s largest corporate sustainability initiative, which enables it to acquire new contacts with businesses of almost every industry, sector or size from 167 countries around the world.
The events held within the framework of the global agreement give the university the opportunity to exchange information on corporate sustainability with other members of the network.
By becoming a member of the global agreement, the university is granted access to the institutional knowledge accumulated by the organization over the past 15 years, in the direction of corporate sustainability, to corporate sustainability mechanisms and resources, as well as participation opportunities in trainings in the mentioned direction.
Global Compact member organization can provide assistance through local networks of the Global Compact, which exist in more than 60 countries, including Georgia.
The Global Compact is UN initiative. Through its membership, Caucasus International University gains the authority, knowledge and experience of the United Nations.
It should be noted that the “Laboratory of Sustainable Development Goals” operates at the Faculty of Business and Technology. Membership of the UN Global Compact enables the university to implement large-scale projects on a laboratory basis and to contribute to the promotion of sustainable development goals.
