The representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia met the students of the Faculty of Law of Caucasus International University on November 28.
At the information meeting on gender equality, emphasis was placed on international and domestic legal mechanisms.
The meeting was opened by George Khatidze, Dean of the Faculty of Law of Caucasus International University, who thanked the guests for the productive cooperation and spoke about the importance of the topic under discussion.
The information meeting was chaired by Giorgi Osadze, Director of Human Rights Protection and Investigation Quality Monitoring Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Georgia, and Bela Pipia, Head of the Investigation Quality Analysis and Evaluation Division of the same department.
Giorgi Osadze highlighted the functions and tasks of the department, and also discussed the information campaigns of the Ministry, especially in the gender direction. Bela Pipia talked about the steps taken as a result of the implementation of the Istanbul Convention in connection with gender equality, reviewed the UN Resolution 1325 and the recommendations issued by the European Commission, and also discussed gender-based crimes and other practical issues.
The informational meeting was held with the active participation of students, where the audience had the opportunity to ask questions on the issues that interested them and express their opinions.
