Profesor Jacek Szepietowski, Chair of the Department of Dermatology, Venereology and Allergology of Wroclaw Medical University (Poland) was awarded the academic title of Doctor Honoris Causa by Caucasus International University on December 23.
Prof. Jacek Szepietowski initiated the partnership between Caucasus International University and Wroclaw Medical University. Bilateral cooperation was developed between universities with his support, namely: students as well as administrative and academic staff benefited from the exchange program. In addition, joint international scientific projects are planned between the parties in the future.
It is noteworthy that the Summer School in Dermatology was held at CIU under the scientific guidance and active participation of Jacek Szepietowski. Furthermore, CIU Faculty of Medicine became involved in Erasmus+ project for the first time with his support.
Prof. Szepietowski has been active in both academic and administrative positions for many years. He is a President of European Society for Dermatology and Psychiatry. He is the author of more than 700 scientific papers and 17 books.
Sesili Gogiberidze, Head of the Scientific Research Department of CIU, moderator of the event; Professor - Kakhaber Kordzaia, Rector of Caucasus International University; Professor Piotr Ponikowski, Rector of Wroclaw Medical University; Magda Tortladze, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Doctor of Medicine, Associate Professor; Lali Mekokishvili, Doctor of Medicine, Professor welcomed the audience at the event for awarding the academic title of Honorary Doctor.
After awarding the title of Honorary Doctor, Prof. Jacek Szepietowski delivered a lecture on the topic: Itch 2020 – Interdisciplinary Phenomenon.
