The Faculty of Business and Technology of Caucasus International University is the winner of the grant competition 2023 of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia for mobility and international scientific events.
“The International Scientific Conference on Innovation and Entrepreneurship” will be held within the framework of the project, which was prepared as a result of the joint work of the Faculty of Business and Technology, the Department of Scientific Research and the International Relations Service. In addition, Caucasus International University is the leading and co-funding organization of the project.
The head of the project is the Dean of the Faculty of Business and Technology, Associate Professor Marika Kldiashvili.
The aim of the conference is to promote the development and internationalization of scientific research on innovation and entrepreneurship in Georgia, to deepen collaboration between the academic, public and business sectors and to promote it among young scientists.
The co-participating organizations of the event are Alcala University School of Entrepreneurship (Spain) and Deggendorf Institute of Technology (Germany), and the closing day of the conference will be hosted by Telavi Iakob Gogebashvili University, whose representatives are members of the conference organizing committee.
It is worth noting that in 2022 ranking of the most popular QS World University Ranking, University of Alcala is ranked 511-520 among world universities and has been awarded 5 QS-stars, and Deggendorf Institute of Technology took the second place in the category “Entrepreneurial Spirit” worldwide, in the 2022 ranking of WURI (Worlds Universities with Real Impact) and in the category “Crisis Management” - the eighth place in the world. It is an indicator of high level international institutional involvement.
The invited plenary speakers of the conference are outstanding scientists in the field of entrepreneurship and innovation, highly cited professors from Arizona State University (USA), Emlyon Business School Entrepreneurship and Innovation Research Center (France), University of Alcalá (Spain), Deggendorf Institute of Technology (Germany) and University of Lyon (France).
Speakers invited to the event are representatives of the public and business sectors from the “Enterprise Georgia” agency, the National Competition Agency, the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency, Space International and other partner organizations of the university.
Thematic areas of the conference are:
Modern approaches to entrepreneurship development and practical challenges, best practices for entrepreneurial university development and hindering circumstances;
Radical and incremental innovations in entrepreneurship;
Innovations, technology transfer and development of technological entrepreneurship;
Scaling up and internationalizing entrepreneurship.
