An online conference was organized by Caucasus International University Laboratory of Geopolitical Modelling on March 14 which referrred to the special role of women scientists in peace processes.
To strengthen this role, the conference developed the idea of Georgia becoming the initiator and center of the international global initiative - Women Scientists for Peace.
The conference also developed the following initiatives/proposals:
To support the proposal of Caucasus International University Laboratory of Geopolitical Modeling and to set up an international editorial team to prepare a new UN resolution on the management of global science processes, in particular the peace process;
Based on the joint research of Batumi State University and Tamariuni presented at the conference, recommendations were given to the management of the Georgian Academy of Sciences to create special and dignified working conditions for women scientists, in particular, to be more widely represented in the management system of the Academy;
To establish an international congress –“"Women Scientists for Peace” (with the International Organizing Committee);
To address the Ministry of Education and Science of Georgia with the request to establish an electronic database on Georgian science doctoral theses and publications in Georgia and abroad and highlight the role of women in this process;
To hold events facilitation the dissertation thesis which have not been defended for various reasons on the basis of the Institute of Science Studies on April 14, 2022. To apply to the Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundation of Georgia in order to study this phenomenon. Pay special attention to the development of women scientists’ careers, the creation and implementation of care mechanisms;
To address the Prime Minister of Georgia and the international community that the capabilities of science have not been sufficiently used in the management of existing conflicts and the prevention of violence, especially in the diagnostic phase and the development of preventive technologies;
To pay special attention to the intellectual diaspora and those women scientists who work outside the country. For this purpose, the International Congress of Women Scientists of Georgia will be held on May 26-28, 2022. Send an address for support to the Parliamentary Committee on Diaspora and Caucasus Affairs;
To create conditions for representatives of all fields of science to be represented in the organization, for which additional research should be conducted;
In order to stop the ongoing war in Ukraine, an emergency decision was made to hold online zoom meetings with women scientists from Russia and Ukraine by the initiative of Georgian women scientists. The first round of meetings will be held with representatives of the scientific diaspora in these countries.
The co-initiators of the conference together with the CIU Laboratory of Geopolitical Modeling were: Tamariuni Psychological Program; Institute of Science Studies; Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly; Women’s Council; International Movement – “Universities for Peace”; International Movement “Scientists for Peace”; Barbara Kipiani International School of Metapsychology.
The conference was held with the support of Shota Rustaveli National Science Foundationof Georgia and is the result of dissemination of scientific research.
