On May 16, a public lecture on the topic “Life of the First Winemakers” was held at Caucasus International University. The event was organized by the Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking.
Olan Gotsiridze, Dean of CIU Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking, and Davit Maghradze, head of the Scientific Department at the Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking, gave a welcome speech at the meeting.
The speakers, head of the Paravani Geoarchaeological project, landscape archeology researcher Nino Pataridze, and Neolithic researcher Dimitri Zhvania, Doctor of Archeology, presented an archeological excursion of the Neolithic world to CIU students of the Faculty of Viticulture and Winemaking.
The main topics discussed at the meeting were: archeology as an art; places where the first cultivated grapes were discovered in the territory of Georgia; the settlement of the first winemakers and farmers; Alizi Architecture; The first winemakers’ household items.
