The following people attended the meeting: Tamar Zuriashvili, a head of Ilia Chavchavadze Museum, Levan Kokorashvili, an Attorney of Kvareli, Adam Radetski, Ana Radetska, representatives of youth committee of ICC, Giorgi Sikharulidze, Aleksandre Khutsishvili, Jovana Ablotia, a coordinator of Research Centre for Municipal Diplomacy, Giorgi Davidov, a head of Research Centre for Civil Society, Temur Kapanadze, a representative of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, Vakhtang Gorgadze, a representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Sophio Gordeladze, a coordinator of the Research Centre for Spiritual Heritage, Teona Gvenetadze, a coordinator of OSCE Information Centre, Andrey Klimchuk, a representative of NATO information Centre, Aleksandre Kapanadze, a representative of
“Civitas Georgica”, Olga Dorokhina, a representative of Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly of Georgian National Committee, Aleksandre Rusetski, a head of the Department of Innovations and Strategic Development at Caucasus International University.
During the meeting they assessed the danger which faces Kvareli population in case if the river Duruji rises. In order to immortalize Chavchavadze’s merit, they had an idea to establish Niko and Zurab Chavchavadze Museum as well as Kvareli museum. This means that the city will become a museum centre of the region. By the initiative of “Duruji” it is planned to invite an Ambassador and a Prime-Minister of Poland in Kvareli. The main aim of the meeting will be to inform Kvareli municipality about municipal government of Poland. In addition, they will discuss the possibility of the collaboration between Kvareli and Schetsin. The meeting turned out to be productive:
• A memorandum was signed between Caucasus International University and Kvareli Municipality;
• A memorandum was signed between Caucasus International University and Kvareli Ilia Chavcahvade Public School 1;
• A new plan has been worked out in order to strengthen the banks of the river Duruji and negotiations have been started with Dutch partners; It was planned:
• To invite the Prime Minister of Poland in Kvareli;
• To bring a group of volunteers in Duruji gorge (they will conduct cleaning operations there);
• To grant the status of eco-monument to the stones of unique size;
• To work out a new strategic plan for the development of apiculture in Kvareli;
• To create a work group for working out strategic plan for Kvareli region.
